The Last Raptor - Raptors (YouTube Video)
The Last Raptor approached me with the request to make a video for him that will play on Youtube with his song Raptors.
Raptor’s single request was to use this image as a background. I actually think it’s perfect.
Story in Music
Before making this video, The Last Raptor and I talked about music, storytelling, and design. He wanted to accompany the release of the single with a YouTube video that will complement the track. With this in mind, we’ve come to realize that the video will work best if there’s some kind of narrative development. Raptor has already decided that it will have to do with the Extinction Event which is a solid ground for it.
The first redesign of the input image we’ve decided will work well.
Evolution of the Events
The next challenge was to come up with a story on the image part. I knew that I will not be able to go the full animated length, but we’ve decided that an animated logo with some other effects will do perfectly fine. It will not take attention away from the music, but it will stay interesting enough to keep the eye on it for a first-time viewer, and some subsequent views, too.
Some events happen throughout the video that keep the narrative going.
